Emotional Intelligence
At STLEQ, practicing emotional intelligence in our business and personal lives is the key to our happy and best self.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) has been formally recognized as a key factor in success and satisfying relationships since Daniel Goleman first coined the term in 1995. Cognitive intelligence is measured by IQ while EQ measures emotional intelligence. IQ and EQ are not related---as in higher IQ does not higher EQ and the reverse. Many point to the research that suggests that EQ can be more important than IQ for personal and business success. IQ cannot be increased; however, we can learn to be more emotionally intelligent.
